About Lisa Elia
Lisa Elia, the company’s CEO and founder, is a communication expert and coach, and an experienced media trainer. During her 25 years as a publicist, Lisa secured placements for clients in major media outlets, such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Time Magazine, USA Today, CNN, Redbook, In Style and hundreds of others. She has positioned clients for book deals, endorsement deals, positions as contributing editors to magazines and even their own TV shows. She has been interviewed in outlets that include Inc., Us, Entertainment Tonight, E! and many others.
Lisa’s interest in the field of communication began early: she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication with a public relations focus from the University of Delaware and has spent more than 25 years continuously building upon the strong foundation of her education. In 1990, after working for other firms, she formed Elia & Associates, a small marketing-communications firm in Wilmington, Delaware.
After a brief stint in New York, Lisa moved to Los Angeles and founded Lisa Elia Public Relations in 1998, with the promise to herself to only work with businesses and people she feels passionately about helping because of their passion for what they do.
In 2013, Lisa shifted the focus of the company to provide coaching, communication consulting and media training. She creates strategic plans, and she provides business and PR coaching and media training to clients that range from start-ups and solopreneurs to C-level executives.
She has created the affordable DIY program, Becoming Popular: How to Get Yourself Major Media Coverage, to help people learn to get publicity for themselves. She also offers several coaching programs at various levels.
